Hair is made of protein. Included in the protein is the natural coloring factor, a substance called melanin. Melanin is the same no matter what color your hair is. Different hair colors are the result of different amounts of melanin-darker hair simply has more melanin than lighter hair. With the passage of time the production of melanin begins to decrease causing gray hair to form.
Grecian works with the hair's natural chemistry to produce a similar acting pigment where the melanin used to be. It combines with the hair's protein inside the hair to gradually "reverse" the graying process and bring back natural looking hair color. Directions:
Just apply daily at first. After 2-3 weeks, color should be where you want it. Then use once or twice a week to keep it that way.
- Initial application should be to clean, dry hair. Shake bottle well before and during use. Squeeze a small amount (size of a dime) into the palm of your hand.
- Apply and work through hair (not into scalp) like a hair groomer. Avoid areas you want to keep gray. Apply more as needed to cover gray totally, until hair feels slightly damp.
- Comb hair as usual. Wash hands thoroughly. Blow-dry your hair, if desired. Apply daily until your hair reaches desired shade. To maintain your natural look, apply once or twice a week thereafter.
