Trends in Color
7 comments

These days, pretty much anything goes when it comes to hair color. Not too long ago reds were all the rage, and everyone from movie stars to high schoolers sported a flame top. It got a little predictable, didn't it?

But there are some recent trends worth keeping around. For instance, salon professionals have been getting more requests for low-maintenance, natural-looking color, such as very subtle highlights and lowlights in two or three different shades.

When it comes to color products, lately there's been an explosion in the numbers and types available. Manufacturers have been rolling out new lines with gentler formulas -- semipermanents are really gaining in popularity -- and ones made specifically for the African American and Hispanic markets. But while fashions come and go, the best advice is to choose a shade and a process that suits your complexion, hair type and lifestyle.

Once upon a time my colorist did a great job for me. Of recent everytime I go I come out looking like a faded blond with that beige-rose color and pink scalp. I don't want red, I don't want beige! I want gold tones, with highlights and lowlights. Less than 24hrs ago I came home with the same disappointment even though i thought I'd explained what i wanted. What can I do since I have an important event in just a few days?

if you use the volume of the developer is just about the amount of lift the color will have. If you use 10 it will only take longer to processes depending on the type of hair you have. more coarse hair will need a higher level of developer and normal will need less.

I hope that helped if not just email me if you have anymore questions

I colored my hair, I kinda like the color, but it only shows up more towards the roots of my hair, not on the ends, how do I get the middle and ends to have the color also?

No it wont change it to semi-permanent. It will just lift less color. 10 is fine with dark colors as long as your hair is lighter than the color your using. It will be less damaging.
