Growing Out Colored or Bleached Hair 5 comments
What can you do to fix your hair when your roots are showing? Here we offer you this professional tip.
Tired of the look and the maintenance? Beyond getting a supershort cut, there are a couple of things you can do while your natural color grows out. If you haven't changed your color by more than a shade or two, highlights and lowlights can help camouflage the difference. And mild semipermanents and temporary colors (applied like a root touch-up) can even out your color until you're "you" again. Don't, however, try to apply stronger semipermanents or permanent dyes to bleached hair -- let a colorist handle it.

Trying to lighten brown dye for roots only, by adding a 40 cream developer, other than the 20 provided.
My sister beautician says NO, you cn't lift color w/developer,only bleach? 30 yrs. exp.
My friend said yes, also a retired non practising beautician. She also stated I can add the developer to roots onlt ahead of time, & then wait, 20 mins? can't remember, then add the 40 to the color as well.
Revlon says, no, so I didn't! ANY FINAL ANSWERS?
If I go 1 shade lighter, brwn.it doesn't cover my every 2 weeks, grey roots. THANKS!
