Your Guide of How to Find the Right Hair Dye Styles and Colors

--Just don't be afraid to experiment on yourself until find the best color that works on you. You can never imagine the hair color for you if you don’t try it on you for real. It takes a little time, a little money plus a little risk.

If you want to try a new color look but can’t make up your mind, get one of the temporary hair colors that will wash out in six or eight shampoos. Funky, chunky highlights can be rectified nearly overnight with another color, as long as you use the wash-in-wash-out type that aren't made to last. If you're going to play with your hair color on the weekends, never use the permanent variety and then try to reverse it in less than several weeks. If you used it too frequently, the harsher chemicals in the permanent hair colors can turn your hair to straw, and may even turn it a scary and unexpected color if you try to set more color on top of a recent dye job.

Blonds can have more fun with reverse highlighting; adding deeper shades in wide or narrow streaks to their natural color. For bored brunettes, streaking or foiling is a great option, being dramatic and playful without going over the edge. Try streaking your brown hair with coppery red, or even a combination of red and gold highlights.

People make assumptions about redheads that may or may not be true, but what is true is that if you go red, you may feel a burst of power. The new shades come in colors from strawberry blond to shriek red, to a plummy, deep, unbelievable purple red. If you're feeling nervous, choose an auburn or a reddish brown that won't scare you and work your way up to brighter shades as your boldness increases.

colored my hair with Loreal "HighColor" red, and coppen using foils. The color came out great, but the red red has washed out in only 3-4 wks; The copper is faded & dull. I normally bleach strands, then use rinses to get bright color. The saleslady @Sally's suggested this product so I can lighten my brown hair in 1 step. So I need to know if I can just add more color highlights (i want to do magenta), or if I have to wait. Do I give up on permanent color & go back to the bleach and rinse method. How long do I have to wait to do that? I normally perm my hair every 4wks, or 8wks after bleach. I have really short hair that I cut every 2 weeks and I used deep conditioners and hot oil tratment, so I'be learned how to minimizet the brittleness from perming and bleaching. I know nothing about permanent color. With the rinses, if I was tired of the color, the perm would strip it enough so I can start a different 1. Does perming strip permanent color (which I dont want). My hair is nappy & dull.
